My Record of Service
Serving on the West Lafayette School Board has been a tremendous honor and privilege. Working alongside my fellow Board members, district leadership, educators, staff, parents, and community members, we have made meaningful progress in strengthening our schools while planning responsibly for the future.
Strong Governance
- Served as Board Vice President, helping foster a collaborative, transparent, and effective Board culture.
- Served on the Board Policy Committee, helping review, research, and refine more than 100 Board policies before they were presented to the full Board, improving transparency, consistency, and accountability.
- Advanced the district’s long-term strategic vision through thoughtful governance and collaborative leadership.
- Strengthened policymaking by supporting a transparent two-reading review process and thorough committee deliberation.
Fiscal Responsibility
- Chaired the Board Finance Committee, supporting responsible long-term financial planning and careful stewardship of taxpayer resources.
- Participated in the 2024–2025 teacher contract negotiations, helping support and retain outstanding educators.
- Supported the successful 2023 operating referendum and 2024 General Obligation Bond, investing in exceptional teachers, educational excellence, student success, and critical facility improvements.
Serving Our Community
- Served on the West Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board (2024), helping strengthen collaboration between the school district and the local governments, including the $2 million school tennis court renovation project.
- Served on the West Lafayette Schools Education Foundation (WLSEF) Board (2026) and the Public School Foundation of Tippecanoe County (PSFTC) Board (2026), supporting teacher grants, student scholarships, and school improvement initiatives.
- Helped develop a more transparent and equitable transfer enrollment policy through extensive public engagement, including feedback from more than 800 community survey responses.
- Regularly attended school and community events to stay connected with students, families, educators, and residents.
Looking Ahead
While I am proud of all we have accomplished together, I remain committed to listening, learning, and working collaboratively to strengthen our schools, practice responsible financial stewardship, and foster meaningful community engagement. Together, we can keep West Lafayette schools among the very best in Indiana, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive for generations to come.
